In 2016 through 2018, the Fire Safe Council invested substantial time, energy, and money in developing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). The project was funded by grants from CAL FIRE’s 2016-2017 State Responsibility Area Fire
Prevention Fund (SRAFPF) and Tree Mortality (TM) Grant Programs. The grants enabled the FSC to hire consultants to evaluate the ecological and geographic characteristics that influence fire behavior, and to provide recommendations to homeowners specifically and the community, more broadly, to reduce the risk of catastrophic losses in the future. The CWPP was printed and distributed to every homeowner in what is called “The Red Notebook.” Every household should have a copy, but if you don’t please contact the Fire Safe Council. You can also find the document in the link below.
